With the support of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government of Shandong, the Golden Hall was set up and specially built for the 11th National Games. It integrates the functions of banquet, interview, conference, ceremony, exhibition and so forth. It covers a total construction space of 4800 m2, including 1400m2 banquet hall, holding 800 persons for a banquet or 1000 persons for a conference or celebration ceremony, etc.
The interior decoration of the Golden Hall is designed by Zhang Yiman, a well-known master of interior decoration in China. Based on Chinese traditional architectural form, the design combines with modern designing methods. By using the golden, red and white colors as its dominant tone, together with simple and grand shape language, it fills the modern space with the flavor of traditional culture. The cultural decoration of the space uncovers the profound Qilu Culture and highlights the position of Shandong province in traditional culture as well as art.
The 500-people grand banqueting hall is spacious, graceful and tasteful; the banqueting hall is also equipped with two sections of movable compartments, which can not only can used as an integral hall but also be isolated into two rooms or three rooms, for the convenience of the guests.
The floor of the dining hall uses high-grade pure wool carpet, the lamps and lanterns are luxurious crystal lamps; the furniture is made of high-quality red-wood and the tableware is made of high-grade bone china.
