Located right in the center of Jinan city, Shandong Hotel covers an area of 10 hectares, with a total construction area of 134,800 square meters. To its east stands the Qianfo Mountain, and the entire environment is graceful and tranquil. The Hotel was opened on March 18, 2002, and was officially evaluated as a five-star tourism hotel by National Tourism Administration on Oct. 12, 2003.
The main part of the Hotel is designed by the world-famous John Portman & Associates. Inc, and the inside decoration was undertaken by Woodhead International Australia. The Hotel is composed of the Room Building, the Conference center and the Great Hall of Shandong, forming a comprehensive multi-functional architecture complex offering the services of political reception, business, conference, lodging, exhibition, food, entertainment and performance.
The Hotel is well-located and easy of access: it is 38 kilometers to Jinan International Airport and 6 kilometers to Jinan Railway Station, and it takes no more than 10 minutes to get to the downtown business district by bus. It takes only about an hour to drive to Mount Tai---the famous mountain, and Qufu--- the hometown of Confucius.
The Hotel has Business Floor, Deluxe Floor and Executive Floor, with 571 rooms and over 1000 beds in total. All rooms are view rooms, and each room has a special view outside of its window. The rooms are commodious, comfortable and full-featured.
We have 14 Chinese and Western restaurants of various styles, including 40 dinning compartments. The restaurants cover an area of over 7,000 square meters and can hold about 2000 people simultaneously. “Golden Hall” --the biggest Banquet Hall in Jinan, can be able to hold a banquet of 1000 people, thus being honored as “The First Banquet Hall of Shandong Province”.
The Conference Center imitates the design of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The Center has 29 distinct conference halls, including two international conference halls with simultaneous interpretation equipment respectively having a capacity of 600 seats and 150 seats. There are also 17 halls for each of the major cities in the province and 5 halls for the five major state-owned large enterprises, all the halls are decorated in varied styles and can be praised as “an expo of Qilu Culture”. Therefore, it is an ideal place to hold conferences in small, medium and large sizes and the middle or small exhibitions.
Shandong Hotel can hold 2500 people. Its stage can freely ascend and descend, and on both sides of the stage there are two 200-inch screens with high-resolution. The wonderful stage and complete facilities enable Shandong Hall to be a perfect place for large conferences, music concerts and performance. Therefore, it is praised as the “First Hall of Shandong”.
